TNJS at SDSU
Thriving, Not Just Surviving, or what we call"TNJS", is a free, all-inclusive student-led initiative that pairs small, specialist-led educational workshops with impactful and reflective self-care activities to create an outlet and supportive community for survivors of interpersonal violence (sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, and stalking). All without the need to share any past trauma.
The workshop series includes activities such as yoga, reiki, art, dancing, and boundary work to foster a tight-knit community. We aim to give survivors an essential toolkit of coping and self-reflection skills that will help guide them in their individual healing journeys.
Why TNJS is different...
This is not a space where group members recount past trauma. Rather, participants are united by the shared elements of their healing paths. All participants will be asked to agree to standards of group confidentiality to create a safe and welcoming space for healing, growth, and compassion for all. Your information will always be treated with the utmost respect and privacy.
All materials are provided at no cost, and there is no fee to participate. Each group is led by one to two peer co-facilitators from The Thriving Initiative, alongside community specialists who will share their expertise with the group throughout this seven-week workshop series. All details, including location, times, and dates, will be sent out individually to ensure the privacy of the group.
Next Steps:
