Elisela is a fourth-year Psychology major and Counseling and Social
Change minor at San Diego State University. Her long-term goal is to pursue a Master’s Degree
in clinical counseling to become a Marriage and Family Therapist. Elisela’s desire to become an
LMFT is inspired by her personal experiences with therapy and supportive relationships during
mental health challenges. In her practice, she wants to incorporate holistic approaches while
using her creativity to make a positive difference in her clients’ lives.
At The Thriving Initiative, Elisela is able to include many of the same values as a Co-Facilitator.
Her commitment to trauma-informed care and sensitivity to a person’s unique story motivates
her to be a volunteer. Elisela looks forward to building a community within workshops and
creating safe environments for students.
During her free time, Elisela enjoys reading and incorporating mindfulness into outdoor
exercise and activities.
