Emmanuela Schoinoplokaki (she/they)

Graduate Program Co-Facilitator

Emmanuela is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Classics at UCSB. She received a Master’s in Classics from the University of Heidelberg in southern Germany for 5 years where she also worked with different groups of young people teaching languages and facilitating creative activities. She has a BA in Modern Greek and Classical Studies from the University of Crete in Greece where she is originally from. She loves to be part of social justice projects in and out of academia. She truly thrives within community, and that’s why she has been involved with theater, sports, meditation and yoga groups, and book clubs wherever she lives in the world. She is part of the  Thriving Initiative because she values the importance of having a safe space where all student survivors can be tuned in to their personal healing journey through collective art and fun activities. In her spare time, she goes for walks and bike rides, listens to podcasts, and often paints and journals with a warm cup of tea –and a heart full of bliss.
